Our Story

Thorough Beauty began with a personal journey—not a business plan.

Living with a genetic disease that affects my skin, I learned firsthand how challenging it could be to care for my skin in a tropical climate. The heat and sun exposure could trigger skin flares, yet living in Belize meant I needed products that could fit naturally into my everyday life.

I wanted something gentle that would help me care for my skin while also providing protection from the elements. More importantly, I wanted to create products using plants found right here in Belize—plants I could grow, access, and continue using for years to come.

So, I began a journey of research and discovery.

I spoke with older generations in my community, learning about the plants they had traditionally used for skin care. I researched their properties, experimented with different ingredients, developed formulas, and tested them on myself to understand what worked best for my skin. One year became many.

Fourteen-plus years of research, experimenting, testing, learning, and refining eventually resulted in a collection of products that became part of my own skin-care routine.

But I didn’t want to keep what I had discovered to myself.

I began sharing my products with family and friends who also experienced different skin concerns. Their experiences and feedback encouraged me to continue improving what I had created.

That journey eventually led to Thorough Beauty.

The name Thorough Beauty represents the care and dedication behind every product. I knew I had to be thorough—taking the time to research, experiment, learn, and create something that truly met my own needs before I could share it with others.

Today, Thorough Beauty is a Belizean plant-based skincare brand, inspired by nature, personal experience, and generations of traditional knowledge.

Every product carries a part of that journey.

At Thorough Beauty, our mission is to share the products that began as a personal journey with others who are looking for gentle, plant-based skin care.

We believe quality skin care should be accessible and affordable, so we strive to create products that people can enjoy without feeling that caring for their skin has to be expensive.

But our mission doesn’t stop with the products we have today. We listen.
